Most gaming headsets are built for a two-hour session. The Korvane X2 is built for a lost weekend. After a month of daily use across console and PC, it is the first wireless headset in a long time that we forgot we were wearing.

Design and comfort

At 262 grams, the X2 is lighter than most wired headsets. The suspension band spreads the weight evenly, and the fabric-wrapped pads breathe far better than leatherette. During a four-hour test session, none of our testers reported hot ears or pressure points, including two who wear glasses.

The build is mostly matte plastic with an aluminium slider. It does not feel premium in the hand, but it has survived being dropped, sat on and stuffed into a backpack without a creak.

Sound quality

Korvane has tuned the 50 mm drivers for clarity rather than bass. Footsteps and directional cues are crisp, and dialogue sits clearly above busy mixes. Bass is present but controlled. Music fans who want more punch can add it through the app, which offers a ten-band equaliser and three presets.

Battery and connectivity

Our rundown test, at 60 percent volume with the dongle connected, lasted just over 52 hours. A fifteen-minute charge gives around six hours. The X2 can connect to its 2.4 GHz dongle and a phone over Bluetooth at the same time, so you can take a call without leaving your party chat.

Microphone

This is the weak spot. The detachable boom microphone picks up voices clearly enough for team chat, but it sounds thin and slightly compressed. For casual play it is fine. Anyone streaming or recording should use a dedicated microphone.

Final verdict

Comfort first, and it shows

The Korvane X2 gets the fundamentals right: comfort, battery and clear sound. If you play for hours at a time and do not stream, it is the easiest recommendation in its price range.
